Patricia Janann (Wells) Nicholson, 64 Okeechobee - Patricia Janann (Wells) Nicholson died May 13, 2022. She was born June 28, 1957 in Plant City. A resident of Okeechobee for six years, she was a member of First Baptist Church of Wauchula. She earned her AA Degree from South Florida State College, her BA Degree from University of South Florida, and her MA Degree from University of South Florida. She was a member of Phi Beta Kappa – USF and the Palm Beach County Teachers Association. She was a retired educator, having been employed more than 35 years. She enjoyed spending time with her husband, grandnieces, friends, and dog. She loved crafts of all kinds, fishing, and her business that she started after her retirement. Mrs. Nicholson was preceded in death by her husband, James L. Nicholson; father, Dr. James Wells; and mother, Mary Lou (Gardner) Wells. She is survived by her brother, William T. “Terry” Wells (Terri L.), of Avon Park; niece, Stephanie Michelle Wells, of St. Cloud; nephews, William Truitt Wells, of Wauchula, Steven Michael Wells, of Avon Park, and Daniel Joseph Wells, of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; grandnieces, Helen Allene Wells, of Lake Wales, Addilyn Grace Gordon and Kinsley Faith Gordon, of St. Cloud; and her closest friends, Veronica Shaw, of Pahokee, and Cheryl Proulx, of Okeechobee. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at Port Mayaca Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society.
