Mary Ann Jurs Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Mary A. Jurs, 78, of Okeechobee, FL passed away on December 24, 2020. She was born in Elgin, IL on September 25, 1942 to Geraldine and Vernon Jurs. After completion of high school, she moved to Vero Beach, FL. where she worked at Piper Aircraft for many years. She then moved to Okeechobee and managed the Shell and Exxon Service Stations on Highway 441 for the Sasser family. When the service stations closed, she went to work at Eckerd Youth Development Center until her retirement. Mary loved her family, her friends, and her beloved dog, Louie. She also enjoyed nothing better than relaxing and watching football. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by sisters, Sharon Phelps of Genoa, IL, Verna Jurs of Elgin, IL, and Dorothy Jurs of Key West, FL; and her brothers, Bruce Jurs and Kenneth Jurs of Elgin, IL Survivors include her spouse and partner of 38 years, Myra S. Clark; sisters, Donna (Dave) McQueen of Elgin, IL; Diane (Joseph) Norman of Piedmont, SD; Terry Schrieber of Rogers, AR and Judy Jurs of Fayetteville, AR; Nephews Mark (Michelle) McQueen of Pingree Grove, IL and Matthew (Bethany) of Kissimmee, FL A gathering of family and friends will be held at Mary’s home at a later date.
