Linda Elizabeth Mattox, 74 Okeechobee – Linda Elizabeth Mattox died January 29, 2022. She was born September 6, 1947 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida to George and Dorothy (Noegel) Umstead. She was a resident of Okeechobee for 52 years. She was a member of the Bible study group, “Gods’ Girls”. She loved cooking, bingo, blackjack, billiards, her family, and friends. She had a smile that would light up a room. She was a skilled pool shark! She will be greatly missed by her loved ones and all that knew her. She loved to give food and anything she had to anyone. She was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, John F. Baldwin; her brother, Wayne Webb; sister, Dottie Womble; her mother, Dorothy Noegel Umstead; and her father, George Elbert Umstead. She is survived by her sons, G. Scott Bresett (Jeanne Bresett), of Vero Beach, Florida, and John F. Baldwin, Jr., of Okeechobee, Florida; daughters, Kimberly Angela Racquel Baldwin (Tom “Gar” Wiggins), of Okeechobee, Florida, and Melissa Lynn Ellis (Donnie Ellis), of Okeechobee, Florida; nine grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; sister Susan Waldron of Okeechobee, Florida; several nieces and nephews; and her two pets Prince and Murphy. The family will receive friends from 3 p.m. until service at 4 p.m. on Monday, February 7, 2022 at Buxton & Bass Okeechobee Funeral Home.
