Leta Jean Couch Hale, 83 Okeechobee – Leta Jean Hale died April 6, 2022, in Okeechobee, Florida. She was born May 7, 1938 in Wise County, Virginia, the oldest child of the late Stella Gaynelle Armstrong Couch and Vernon Harding Couch. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Roy Hale; daughter, Cynthia Jane Krajcik; grandson, Stephen C Krajcik; brothers, Bobby Couch, Howard W. Couch, Carson E. Couch; and sister, Alice M. Meade. She married the love of her life, Clifford R. Hale, and they celebrated 49 wonderful years of marriage. They made their home and raised their children and several foster children in Catawba Island, Ohio until they retired to Okeechobee, Florida in 1993. Leta was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She was happiest taking care of her home, cooking, and entertaining her family and friends. She was a woman of faith and prayer and took great delight in serving in various ministries over her lifetime. Leta leaves a legacy of love and serving the Lord to her family. Survivors include daughter, Peggy S. Day (Donald Day); grandchildren, Carey M. Farrow (Wayne Farrow) and Amber N. Price (Matthew Price); and great-grandchildren, Jaden Keys, Keren Keys, Laney Keys, Parker Price, Beckett Price, and Callen Price. During her brief battle with cancer, she never questioned why, but always chose to say, “My Father knows”. Death was her passport home to Glory. We as a family, are confident in God’s promises for believers to be together for eternity. Her legacy of love and faith are something we are eternally grateful for. A private memorial service will take place with family at a later time.
