James Mitchell Pickett Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

James (Jim) Mitchell Pickett, son of the late James Willard Pickett and late Mary Opal Shively, was born on 23 August 1950 in Jefferson County Kentucky. Jim passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family on 21 March 2022 in Okeechobee County. James leaves behind his loving wife of almost 51 years Bonnie Lyons Pickett and three children Michelle (Ron) Davidson-Sackett, Cameron Pickett, and Ashleigh (Ben) Brady. Grandchildren include; Andrew, Brennan & Chase Davidson; Madison & Savannah Sackett; and Tyler Brady. Jim & Bonnie moved from Lexington KY to Northern Kentucky in 1972 where Jim was the supervisor for the I-275 bridge construction, after the bridge completion he began working at Interstate Asphalt. He eventually started his own company, JPS Construction Inc., in December 1988. He took great pride in his work and employees. Jim loved his Lord, family, and friends. He enjoyed hunting and fishing throughout his life. He was very competitive in board games, cards, and anything he could win (which friends & family will tell you was most of the time). His great love was supporting Mission Field work, focusing on the needs of the poor and people in Africa. Services will be held on April 9th 2022 at Main Street Baptist Church (11093 Alexandria Pike) in Alexandria Kentucky. Visitation 11-1 followed by a celebration of life.
