George Leon “Buddy” Cotton, Sr., 58 Okeechobee – George Leon ”Buddy” Cotton, Sr. died February 22, 2022. He was born August 9, 1963 in Okeechobee, Florida to Leon Ferries Cotton and Brenda (Lagrange) Cotton. A lifetime resident of Okeechobee, he was a member of New Testament Baptist Church. He was a member of the “Panther Clan”, Eveleka Farm, Okeechobee Pride Inc. He loved hog hunting, fishing, working, football, Florida State University, and spending time with family. Buddy loved his Momma. He was preceded in death by his father, Ferris Cotton; brother, Bucky Cotton; and sister, Cerria Cotton. He is survived by his mother, Brenda Prescott; significant other, Kimberly Mumford; son George L. Cotton, Jr.; daughter, Heather Cotton; grandchildren, George III, Colin, Joseph, Justice, and Brennon; one great grandchild on the way; brothers, Craig Gopher, and Timmy McGee; sisters, Angel Horton and Renee Cotton; many nieces and nephews, J.R., Tony, Rachel, Chelsa, Bridget, Jordan, Taylor, Caithy, Sara, Candice. The family will receive friends from 2:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. Monday, February 28, 2022 at Buxton and Bass Okeechobee Funeral Home.
