Edwin Woodrow Dana, 71 Okeechobee – Edwin Woodrow Dana died February 11, 2022. He was born November 24, 1950 in Fort Myers. A resident of Okeechobee for 40 years, he was a member of Oakview Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, woodworking, building things, and was an avid FSU football fan. He had an amazing career in Law Enforcement with Glades County Sheriff’s Office and Okeechobee County Sheriff’s Office. He was a founding member of the Sheriff’s SRT Tactical Rifle Team, and he solved many major cases throughout his career as a Detective. Mr. Dana was preceded in death by his father, James F. Dana, II. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Mary Ann Raulerson Dana; mother, Doris Cross Dana, of Winter Haven; sons, Daniel Thomas (Kim) and Randy Thomas (Julie), all of Okeechobee; daughters, Cynthia Whitehead (Brian), of Pioneer Plantation, Sonya Wisham (Shannon), of Moultrie, Georgia, Chanda (Neil), of Avon Park, and Shana Dana, of Buckhead Ridge; seventeen grandchildren, Scotty, Shelby, Jenna, Wyatt, Jasey, RaeLynn, Branson, Clayton, Brooke, Hope, Madison, Hunter, Landon, Ty, Evan, Roman, and Grace; twelve great grandchildren, Kinley, Daniel, Levi, Harper, Luke, Sage, Brody, Cason, Rhett, Cora, Delta, and Sadie; brother, James Dana, III (Judy), of LaBelle; and sister, Carol Anderson, of Winter Haven. Visitation will be 10 a.m. until services at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 17, 2022 at Buxton & Bass Okeechobee Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Basinger Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Okeechobee Fraternal Order of Police, Shop With a Cop.
