Catherine Renee Spiller
December 27, 1959 - January 27, 2022
Catherine Renee Spiller, 62 We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our sister Ms. Catherine Renee Spiller (sister of Elder Carolyn Forrest). A loving and caring sister, mother, aunt, cousin, and friend, who was a blessing to many. Catherine closed her eyes on the evening of January 27, 2022, due to complications related to COVID-19, and now she rests in the Lord, awaiting his second coming. Even so, come, Lord Jesus! A beautiful lady with many talents, Catherine enjoyed reading, singing, listening to classical music, English literature, arts and crafts—painting and ceramics, coloring, and cooking. After graduation from Okeechobee High School and Indian River Community College in Fort Pierce, Florida, Catherine was employed as a medical secretary transcriptionist and later as a data entry operator for NaBanco, the third largest electronic credit card processor in the U.S. In high school and college, she sang in the choir of the Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, and later she and her only child, Anthony Blake Chambers, would follow in the footsteps of her mother, Mary Spiller, and become members of the Okeechobee Seventh-day Adventist Church, recommitting their life to Jesus. Always happy and full of joy, Catherine looked for the good in everyone, for that is what you saw and got in her, goodness. She will be greatly missed. Catherine leaves to mourn her passing and cherish her memories, three sisters, Carolyn Forrest of Silver Spring, Maryland, Earlene Spiller Brown (Fred) of Okeechobee, Florida, and Jean Burns of Houston, Texas; one adopted sister, Virginia Williams of Okeechobee, Florida; two brothers, Larry Spiller of Lake City, Florida and Larry Smith (Grace) of Okeechobee, Florida; two aunts, LaVera Randolph Manuel (Dallas) of Miami, Florida and Chenise Randolph Pompey Joel) of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; one uncle, Charles Randolph (Alice) of Orlando, Florida; 25+ nieces and nephews (a few, La Tavia Grace, Dracia Peacock Hayles (Shane), Sidney M. Porter, Larry Smith, Jr., Cordero Smith, Lars Smith, Larne Smith), and a host of cousins and friends. Preceding Catherine in death were her parents, Ervin and Mary Spiller; one son, Anthony; grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 4, 2022 at Buxton & Bass Okeechobee Funeral Home. Inurnment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
