Benjamin F. "Benny" Hunter

October 28, 1939 - February 4, 2022

Benjamin F. "Benny" Hunter was born on October 28, 1939 in Okeechobee County to Alvertie (Johnson) and Henry Hunter. He was lifelong resident of Okeechobee County and a member of various organizations and made many friends. He was immersed in his Christian faith and this became a stable support to him throughout his life. He enjoyed many activities like hunting and camping and had a "rambling bone" that didn't allow him to stay in one place for too long. If he loved you, it was with a strong and true LOVE. But if he didn't like you or had a different opinion than you did, he would let you know quickly. But whatever relationship you had with him you always knew where he stood. He was blessed with a large and loving family and was married to some wonderful ladies who enriched his life and his children. Daddy will be missed dearly and we will feel his loss forever. He was preceded in death by his parents and all eight of his siblings: Orville (Buck) Hunter of Baycity, Tx, Emily (James) Purvis of Augusta, Ga., Lavada (Robert) Rigdon of Meridian, Ms, William Hunter of Okeechobee, Fl. and Stonewall, Tx, Phillip (Margaret Hill) Hunter of Okeechobee, Fl, David Hunter of Orlando, Fl, Baby Jane Hunter of Okeechobee, Fl; his son, Benjamin E. “Bubba” Hunter; and his grandson, Justin E. Chalfant of Okeechobee, Fl. He is survived by his children: Deborah (Edwin) Colon of Ocoee, Fl, Candace (Wilmer) Chavira of Apopka, Fl, Tammy (Shawn) Murray of Baxley, Ga and formerly of Okeechobee, Fl, Kimberly (Mike) Davis of Douglas, Ga and formerly of Okeechobee, and David Hunter of K-Ville, Ga; ten grandchildren; and eighteen great grandchildren.
